There appears to be some confusion as to which Vulkem sealer is the best or proper one to use. Opinions are varied, therefore we wish to make you aware of the following information that was available to us on June 13. 2001:VULKEM 616/631
A general purpose sealant suited for the cargo container and truck trailer body. It is tough, non-brittle and bonds firmly to aluminum, wood or fiberglass. Prevents water penetration in fillet joints used in flat repairs.

VULKEM 116
Excellent general purpose sealant designed for
use in precast, masonry, window frame perimeters and similar types of construction joints.

VULKEM 616/631
Especially recommended by Mameco International for joints between metal sections. Suitable for varied manufacturing uses such as production of travel trailers.

AIRSTREAM INC.
We use and sell Vulkem 616/631 sealant, only. We have it available in both gray and black. We do not recommend any other sealant for the exterior shell other than Parr Bond, or Sikoflex.
